Barcelone ne va pas changer son style de jeu pour que Mascherano sois a chaque fois titulaire....
Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Henry, (villa ou Eto'o) sont sur d'être titulaire.

Javier Mascherano à Barcelone ? C'est pour bientôt à en croire la presse anglaise. Si l'Argentin a fait partie des hommes de base de Rafa Benitez toute la saison dernière, il s'est accroché avec le technicien espagnol lors des dernières parties avant la trêve. Mascherano, qui s'est déclaré intéressé par l'offre catalane, ne sera pas retenu outre mesure. Ce serait, par ricochet, un coup dur pour le Real Madrid qui travaille activement à la venue d'un autre milieu des Reds, Xabi Alonso. Or, Liverpool ne se séparera pas de ses deux récupérateurs en même temps…

Liverpool are set to offer Javier Mascherano an astronomical pay increase in order to encourage him to remain at Anfield, and resist the charms of Barcelona.

British tabloid The Daily Mail is reporting that Mascherano's wife is unhappy in England, and did not want to return after a summer break in Argentina, leading to concern at Anfield that he may want to move soon.

As a result, the Liverpool hierarchy are set to offer him a new deal which would triple his wages, according to The Mail, as they look to keep the 25-year-old on Merseyside.

Last week, Reds boss Rafa Benitez had responded to talk of the player perhaps leaving Anfield, along with Xabi Alonso, by hinting that the two players owed Liverpool for igniting their careers in England.


"With Mascherano, you know the situation, so both players know they owe Liverpool a lot. They are players the fans like and they owe us, in terms of loyalty.

"We have to be very clear - we are preparing our squad for next season, not talking of selling players."

Despite those combative words, Real Madrid are still hovering with intent over Alonso, and, should the offer of a new contract materialise, it would seem that there is still some anxiety on Merseyside over Mascherano's future as well.

Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo claim this morning that Barcelona remain interested in signing Liverpool’s defensive midfielder Javier Mascherano, resuscitating a rumour that emerged in June.

Pep Guardiola is believed to be eager to strengthen his midfield with Seydou Keita and Yaya Toure set to miss the early part of 2010 when they play at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Mascherano remains Barcelona’s first target and although Liverpool value the Argentine at 30 million euros, the Catalan giants have not given up hope and remain in contact with his representatives.

Walter Tamer, Mascherano's agent, met Barcelona representatives Txiki Begiristain and director of football Raul Sanllehy in the city's Rey Juan Carlos I hotel on June 17, 2009.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, Tamer agreed on a five-year deal for Mascherano at the Nou Camp worth five million euros a season.

It has been widely reported throughout the summer that Rafa Benitez would not sell both Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano this summer. Mascherano is expected to be offered a contract extension with improved wages in the coming weeks.

* The Spanish paper also claims that Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen could move to Barcelona as part of the deal that will likely see central defender Martin Caceres move to the "Old Lady."

rafa ne veut pas vendre et en plus le barca doit vendre pour acheter notament eto'o qui sera remplacer par ibra donc plus de sous pour masch et quand on voit des image de masch avec ses coequipiers a l'entrainement il a pas l'air blaser et ca ces surtout fait pour augmenter le futur contrat de masch

Oui, enfin pour une équipe visant Masch, se retrouver avec Poulsen c'est pas la même chose non plus.
Après, si c'est pour en faire le remplaçant de Touré, c'est plus cohérent.

Si Masch pense à se casser après si peu de temps au club, qu'il le fasse. On l'a sorti du bourbier de West Ham, s'il n'est pas capable d'être reconnaissant pour çà, il n' a rien à faire au club.

Je sais pas moi j'ai du mal à le voir dans l'équipe du Barca. Deja il prend la place à qui?
Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Henry et Ibra on oublie; Yaya Touré c'est le seul à apporter du physique et de la taille dans cette equipe de "poids plume".
Mon autre probleme c'est que le Barca a tout gagné en n'ayant aucun joueur de ce type dans leur equipe type, pourquoi changer une équipe qui gagne et intégrer un destructeur dans cette equipe de créateurs. Il en va de meme pour Marsh bien sur
Edit: Faut arreter de remettre en cause ce qu'on fait Marsh et Xabi avec des phrases du genre "qu'il se casse si c'est comme ça"; ni l'un ni l'autre n'ont dit qu'ils voulait partir.
Vous partez au quart de tour alors que c'est des déclarations d'agents et de journaux (souvent de piètre niveau). Pour l'instant Marsh joue les matches amicaux et Xabi est dans le groupe
