I think you forget the first half...Except the pass to Finnan

Alonso was so irrégular for me, but the second half was so great with a amazing goal, hope for next match.

Sans hésitation: Alonso (même en première )

1. alonso - made the first goal with a neat pass to finnan and scored a wonder goal, his job is in the middle and he does it wonderfuly

2. kuyt - great running in on finnans ball, solid throughout and could of had his hat-trick. took the punch well from the newcastle defender, no winging about it !!!

3. garcia - przesent all the time running around, unlucky not to have scored but needs to harden up a bit

Spanish midfield maestro Xabi Alonso was voted Liverpool's star performer during the 2-0 win over Newcastle midweek by the Reds fans in an exclusive vote on this website.
The Reds number 14 also won the Liverpoolfc.tv Man of the Match award.

After each game we will pick a Liverpoolfc.tv top three players from the match and get you, the fans, to vote for your top three as well. We will keep this running throughout the season and then at the end of the campaign see which player comes out on top as the overall star performer.

In terms of points the best player will get three points, second placed player two points and one point for the third placed player.

1. Xabi Alonso. The amazing goal alone would deserve to win the man of the match award but Xabi Alonso was certainly back to top form against Newcastle. He helped create the first goal with a wonderful defence splitting pass to Steve Finnan and then added the vital second with one of the best goals ever seen at Anfield.

2. Luis Garcia. Outstanding against Newcastle and so unlucky not to score with a fantastic solo effort that came back off the post. After missing the last two games Luis Garcia was full of tricks on his 100th appearance for Liverpool.

3. Dirk Kuyt. A deserved first goal in a red shirt for the Dutchman, Dirk Kuyt also had a fine game against the Geordies and was a constant threat.

- Alonson pour son énorme boulot au milieu de terrain, la passe à Finnan sur le 1er but et son but de 60m.

- Kyut pour son but et surtout son acharnement a ne rien lacher à tout donner sur chaque ballon, son engagement est remarquable et en plus il est très altruiste il a souvent bien servi Bellamy.

- Aurelio car pour une fois il a été impérial en défense et il a été super percutant surtout en 2e mi temps sur son côté il a amené beaucoup de vitesse au jeu quand il avait le ballon.

Bon pas d'accord (on va dire que j'ai l'esprit de contradiction), dans un même registre Finnan a été énorme. Aucune action de Newcastle de son côté, un centre décisif. Aurélio a râté la majorité de ses centres, et derrière il a rarement été pris en défaut parce qu'on venait l'aider.

En tout cas Agger m'a déçu par ses simulations, il était juste devant nous en 2e mi temps et 2 fois quand il a vu qu'il allait être battu en vitesse il s'est laissé tomber grossierement, l'arbitre lui a dit de se relever la 1ere fois et lui a donner la faute la 2e fois, même si c'est bien pour nous j'aime pas trop cette mentalité.
