Prévu dans une semaine, le choc des huitièmes de finale de la Ligue des champions entre Liverpool et le Real Madrid a commencé. Ce matin, Marca précise que le capitaine des Reds, Steven Gerrard, "jouera à Bernabeu." Malgré une blessure qui devait l'éloigner des terrains plusieurs semaines, l'Anglais "s'entraîne en secret", et devrait même joueur "quelques minutes contre Manchester City dimanche prochain." je relais car ce news fait la une de Marca qui si je ne me trompe pas, est quand meme serieux...

C'est du jamais vue a Liverpool, je n'y crois pas une seconde.

J'ai des doutes sur le sérieux de ce journal. Surtout qu'ils sont madridistes comme personne et n'hésitent pas à salir l'ambiance des autres clubs (Messi au Real, par exemple, c'est eux...)

Marca est quand même assez sensationnaliste, je confirme Rodo. Et très pro-Real. Pour des infos fiables, As me parait plus sûr. Pro-Real aussi, globalement, mais plus objectif et plus sérieux.

Steven Gerrard has been named in the Liverpool squad to travel to Spain on Tuesday morning for the Champions League first leg clash with Real Madrid.
The Liverpool skipper, who has been sidelined for three weeks with hamstring trouble, came through a training session at Melwood this morning and will be on the flight with the rest of the squad tomorrow.

Manager Rafael Benitez confirmed: "Steven will be in the squad. He was okay in training this morning.

"It was a special training session so we were not testing him one hundred per cent, but he trained okay so we will see."

Il sera présent dans l'équipe qui fait le déplacement, mais ce n'est pas confirmé qu'il débute la rencontre. Je pense que s'il joue une mi-temps, ce sera un maximum.

Au temps pour moi,j'ai peut-être lu un peu trop vite...

En tout cas, c'est une bonne nouvelle!

Stevie jouera sois une heure soit 30 mn , je n'ai jamais vu Rafa faire de remplacement a la mi temps ( Sauf cas exceptionnel )
Et personellement je prefere le voir jouer 30 minutes et le garder pour le retour plutot que prendre un risque ( Quoi que j'ai des doutes concernant sa blessure , je dirais meme que je pense que c'est une " feinte " pour le preserver contre le Real , enfin ce n'est que mon avis )

Oui, c'est vrai je l'avais entendu aussi à la mi-temps de Liverpool-Real.

Si il faut dans un mois, sur un quotidien catalan, il va dire que c'est Messi le meilleur joueur?

J'adore Zizou, autant le joueur que l'homme, mais j'ai remarqué qu'en effet des fois, il avait tendance à être un peu indécis...

Ribery c'était avant le retour. Mais une fois que son Real chéri a pris une déroute il a bien fallu trouver une excuse, et perdre contre l quipe qui possède le meilleur joueur du monde, ca fait moins tâche!

Gerrard's Rules

J'aime surtout le constat, humble et juste, que Makelele faisait toute la différence au Real.

Pour Gerrard, on est déjà au courant.

En ce qui concerne Ribery, je crois tout simplement que Zizou voit Gerrard comme un milieu capable de tout faire, mais Ribéry comme un attaquant capable de tout faire. Les meilleurs à leur poste, ou pas loin. Idem pour Messi à droite. Il peut donc hésiter longtemps. De toute façon, la question qui m'intéresse est "quelle est la meilleure équipe?". Only the red shirt matter.

Je pense car il choisit souvent le bon côté et je pense qu'il est vraiment difficile à arrêté il est prêt du poteau à chaque fois si y peut continué à en mettre encore au fond à tous les matchs sutout les matchs qui arrive ça serai encore mieux

Steven Gerrard claims he is currently enjoying his football more than ever before - and would love to prolong his Liverpool career.
Gerrard has scored 21 goals so far this season as Liverpool have mounted their first serious title challenge since 2002.

He said: "I've never been happier than I am at the moment throughout my career. I'm playing in a top team, I'm playing with world-class players and I believe in the manager. Going forward, we can be successful.

"I've got two years left on my contract and if there was a chance to extend that, I'm sure I'd do it."

Boss Rafa Benitez signed a new contract of his own last week - and Gerrard admits their relationship is better than ever.

"My relationship with Rafa has got stronger and stronger as time's gone by," added the 28-year-old. "Maybe when I was a bit younger I was a bit selfish, thinking of myself a bit too much when he was playing me out of position.

"I should have maybe taken a deep breath and realised it was for the team. But, at the moment, he's playing me in my favourite position, I'm captain, we're winning.

"Things at the club are really good. For years and years, I've moaned about not being involved in a title race and being far away from the other teams.

"But, at the moment, I'm playing in a team that's capable of beating anyone in the league."

Gerrard has been instrumental in Liverpool clawing themselves back into the title race with emphatic victories over Manchester United and Aston Villa.

However, the skipper is keen not to lose perspective.

"There's a good feeling around at the moment but it's important not to get carried away," Gerrard said.

"United are still favourites. If they win their game in hand they're four points ahead, which is a decent lead at this stage of the season with nine games to go.

"But confidence is high, the momentum is with us. We have to focus on what we're doing and, if they have another slip-up, we have to capitalise on it."

Gerrard's exceptional form playing just off Fernando Torres has brought more discussion with England about his best position.

And he said: "I would love nothing better than to be given the chance to play there for England to try to find that form.

"I feel that's when you get the best out of me. When I'm free to run at defenders and cause danger. That's down to Rafa Benitez. He's helped me a lot. He's certainly helping me to improve in this position."
