Redsean, je ne veux pas dire de bêtises, mais il me semble bien que le record de décibels, on l'a battu la saison dernière lors de la finale de la League Cup à... Cardiff.
Et si je suis très très attaché à Anfield, comme tout le monde ici, je maintiens que ce sont les Fans qui font la magie d'un stade, pas le contraire. Tu crois qu'il était magique, l'Atatürk ? Et pourtant...

L'exepmple donné par JLB est en effet parlant ... L'un des atouts du nouveau Anfield est sa proximité avec l'ancien, ce qui permet de garder une certaine identité, en tout cas fort heureusement il 'nest pas prévu de le délocaliser au milieu de nulle part comme souvent les nouveaux stades en Angleterre ....

IciAnfield, dans ton classement des affluences moyennes en europe(Marseille dans les quinze premiers, ça fait plaisir d'ailleurs), c'est quoi les deux nombres après chaque nom de club.

Liverpool have a bit more time to prove they are deserving of European money in the regeneration of Anfield, but there are conflicting views from those at the top.

The deadline was due to be today for Liverpool to prove they have sufficient finance in place for the new stadium but a spokesman for Objective One said: "The projects committee will make a decision on the funding application for New Anfield on September 28 on the evidence made available to it. "We will not offer any comment on the application until a decision is reached."

Two grants are principally available - a 10 million pound grant from the European Objective One fund, and a 5 million pound grant from the North West Development Agency (NWDA).

According to the Liverpool Echo, senior officials have grave concerns about whether Liverpool can afford their share - and one top NWDA source admitted: "The silence is deafening."

On the other side of the fence Rick Parry has been giving his weekly chat to the LFC Magazine. In it he seemed to suggest that it was in fact the council who are holding up the scheme

"We are delighted that Liverpool city council has now formally given us permission to build our proposed new 60,000-seater stadium in Stanley Park."

"Council leaders approved a 999-year lease for the site last Friday and that's another big hurdle cleared. Of course, we already had formal planning permission for our project."

"This was the council getting up to speed on their side in terms of making the park available. It's an important step although it's not the final hurdle. It doesn't mean the bulldozers are suddenly going to appear, but it's another significant milestone in what has been a lengthy process. We now move forward to another meeting at the end of September and will endeavour to keep fans informed as to the latest situation."

Another two weeks wait........

That's basically the latest Gate we have until the end of the month to prove we have the money in place to build the stadium. If we can't do it then we don't get the grant money that is not even for the stadium but for the re-generation of the surrounding area. The problem is that the planning permission linked basically what is a local gouvernment problem with a private company one , LFC wishing to build a new stadium.

I personally do not see how we can come up with this money, unless some deal has been done that we don't know about I just cannot see where we are going to get the money from. The danger is that we could be putting the club in danger by over committing ourselves financially to meet this deadline. The catch 22 is that with Newcastle 55k Old Trafford 75k Arsenal 65k we are falling behind our main rivals in having the financial clout to both buy and pay players. We need the new stadium but we don't have the money to pay for it.

Anfield exit in balance Mon, Sep 18 2006

Liverpool's plans to build a new stadium are in doubt after the club failed to meet a deadline to prove funds are in place.

Council officials approved plans last month for a new 60,000 all-seater stadium on a plot of land in Stanley Park, but that was subject to £180million of investment being secured. The Reds are relying on a £10million windfall from the city's Objective 1 committee to start work, but risk losing that funding having missed a deadline to prove the other investment is in place.

Head of the committee Cllr Flo Clucas confirmed: "We have been quite clear about the deadlines. The timetable comes as no surprise to them. We are still awaiting information from them.

"I would like to think that Liverpool FC has been doing its work behind the scenes. This scheme is extremely important to Anfield.

If they cannot put up the money, then they should just tell everyone concerned."

The European Objective 1 programme will make a final decision on the funding on September 28, with a shopping plaza and restoration of the rest of Stanley Park also options.

Rick Parry: The truth on Anfield Sep 20 2006

LIVERPOOL FC today denied it is facing a 48-hour deadline to decide the future of the club's stadium plans.

Chief executive Rick Parry confirmed that a routine board meeting will take place on Friday, not an urgent session tomorrow as widely reported today.

At that meeting progress is expected on the search for multi-million pound investment.

He moved swiftly to calm the latest round of hysteria regarding a possible takeover of the club.

He said: "We h ave a board meeting on Friday. It's our regular meeting, not specially arranged.

"We're not expecting it to be a momentous occasion."

Liverpool's search for private funding for an £180m stadium on Stanley Park is, however, entering its final stages.

The club hoped the situation would have been resolved in July, but remain confident the plan will go ahead.

However, Mr Parry says claims that the club has until midnight on Thursday to prove funding is in place are also wide of the mark.

He said: "We have been speaking to the council every day, will continue to do so and will be speaking to them again after the board meeting on Friday.

"We are confident we are going to get funding for the stadium and we're continuing to work hard to proceed with our plans."

LFC a reçu aujourd'hui £ 9 M de fonds européens, destinés à participer à la rénovation du quartier autour de l'actuel Anfield.
Pour obtenir ces fonds, le club devait donner à l'UE des assurances quant au financement de la totalité du projet (nouveau stade + rénovation du quartier) à hauteur de £ 180 M.
Ce qui signifie que LFC a trouvé de l'argent et que le nouveau stade redevient d'actualité...

MERSEYSIDE'S biggest government agency, the NWDA, is refusing to hand over £9m to Liverpool FC, despite preparatory work starting on a massive New Anfield project funded by another government arm.

Club executives have signed a deal with Liverpool City Council guaranteeing to underwrite £1m-worth of improvement work at Stanley Park.

It will enable work on the restoration of the Victorian park to be planned, rather than wait until the funding squabble is resolved. Up to £9m of European funding has to be spent within a certain timescale to avoid funding managers in Brussels clawing back the cash.

But there is still no sign that a similar amount of vital public funding will be released by the Northwest Development Agency.


NWDA chief executive Steven Broomhead said: "The agency has yet to see any clear evidence of the club's ability to commence with the stadium project, that is to raise the necessary funds. We are eager for the project to start, and we have ring-fenced funding from the agency as our contribution."


Liverpool City Council has agreed to be the legal responsible body for public funding, which means the council will have to refund public money spent if the stadium project collapses.


Without the underwriting deal, city council tax payers could have been left picking up the bill for the park improvements if the overall stadium project had not gone ahead.


Merseyside's Objective 1 projects committee agreed to fund public realm works around the proposed new stadium to the tune of £9m after receiving the club's assurances that it had a package in place to pay for the new £190m 60,000-seater stadium.


But NWDA officials in Warrington say they have written several letters to the club's chief executive, Rick Parry, asking for clarification.

It is understood that concerns raised by officials at the Warrington agency include possible changes of ownership at Anfield.

One source close to the agency said last night: "There is a lot of speculation about the future ownership of the club. If a new owner does take over, that person, or those people, may have a different attitude to a new ground, or towards a shared stadium with Everton. They may even want to look at the level of debt at Anfield before committing to a new stadium."

Club officials continue to make guarded comments about the future, insisting the club is committed to delivering a new stadium.

Last night, Frank McKenna, chairman of Downtown Liverpool in Business, said: "It really is about time the club proved it has the funding and is starting work on the new ground. There are other projects eager for funding, such as the proposed extension of the runway at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

"Some people suggest that the runway extension is far more crucial anyway to the local economy than a football stadium. The club must finally come forward and show people the colour of its money."

Last night, a Liverpool council spokesman said: "The city council accepted the grant offer from Objective 1 earlier this month, following discussions with Liverpool Football Club, during which we were reassured that they are making satisfactory progress in getting the funding for the scheme in place.



"We are now proceeding with preparatory work such as finalising the joint venture company and securing contracts ahead of the start of the development of the scheme. We will not be starting on site with actual works until we have full confirmation that their funding and the money from the Northwest Development Agency is in place."



Liverpool FC ownership must be established before stadium issue can be resolved

THE need to resolve the stadium issue is intrinsically tied up with the future ownership of Liverpool FC.

The club's board of directors had been scheduled to meet today, but it is understood that will not happen. When the directors do meet, they will be told about two serious contenders for the club. US billionaire George Gillett, owner of the Montreal Canadians ice hockey club, is said to be the leading contender.

Bankers NM Rothschild are reported to be advising the Gillett bid, which would see an offer of around £250m for the club. That would be £150m to purchase the shares, with £100m to cover the club's existing debts. Gillett would also provide a commitment to fund the new stadium.

Also a high player in the takeover race is Dubai International Capital, Emirates private equity arm, advised by JP Morgan, who arranged financing for the deal by Malcolm Glazer to take over Manchester United. Wealthy Belfast-based property tycoon John Miskelly is thought to be a third bidder.

The club chairman, David Moores, a member of the Littlewoods dynasty, owns 51% of the shares

Si j'ai tout bien compris, j'ai comme l'impression que neuf millions e livres dont parlait jlb nous sont passés sous le nez au prétexte quie ceux qui nous les avaient accordé ont été destitués de leur poste......

Je n'ai pas tout compris non plus, mais il semble que n'ayant pas pu prouver que nous avions une partie de l'argent pour construire le nouveau stade (en clair trouvé quelqu'un qui rachète le club), les fonds européens de 9m£ ne nous seraient pas attribués et afin que cette argent ne soit pas perdu, la ville de Liverpool préfèrerait les utiliser pour l'extension de l'auroroute de l'aéroport.

Ce n'est pas exactement ce que je comprends. Bon, j'ai lu un peu en diagonale mais je pense qu'on a toujours les fonds européens, les £ 9 M. Le problème, c'est qu'il faut les dépenser dans un laps de temps précis, sinon on les perd.
Par contre, le NWDA devait aussi financer un montant similaire et finalement se rétracte pour l'instant, invoquant le fait qu'ils n'ont pas reçu les garanties qu'ils demandaient au club, et qu'il serait plus prudent d'attendre l'arrivée d'un éventuel repreneur, ce dernier pouvant éventuellement avoir une politique très différente de l'équipe en place concernant le nouveau stade.

j'ai entendu dire que le prix des jeux olympiques à londres allait atteindre 50 milliards de francs .
donc ça va grêver tout le budget anglais pour longtemps....
donc ça m'étonnerait que le gouvernement anglais donne des sous.

Au-dela des considérations financières, j'estime qu'il faut un stade avec les spectateurs aussi près du terrain qu'à Anfield, une acoustique "bruyante" et un stade qui soit encore transformable (possibilité de passer de 60 000 à 80 000 si besoin) par la suite. Mais quand je vois le score de Chelsea et de la Juve en terme d'audience, je me dis finalement que la taille du stade n'est pas tout. Mais il faudra quand même agrandir Anfield ou aller voir ailleurs, c'est un fait.

On ne pourra pas avoir le public aussi près du terrain qu'à Anfield, les normes ont changé et tous les stades construits depuis une dizaine d'année sont tenus de respecter une distance minimale de 7 yards.
Il y aura aussi, d'après ceux qui ont vu les plans ces derniers jours, un nouveau Kop, une tribune de 20 000 places derrière un des buts, sans séparation.
L'autre tribune derrière les buts, en face du Kop, sera coupée en 2, avec une partie réservée aux visiteurs, comme dans l'actuel Anfield.
Et apparemment, le design est étudié pour qu'il y ait le plus de bruit possible.
D'après ce que disent les gars en charge du projet, ils ont eu, surtout ces derniers temps, des recommandations très strictes du club pour que le Kop garde son identité. Ils auraient aussi embauché un expert chargé de designer un toit permettant d'augmenter le niveau sonore.
Bon, ça ne consolera ni ne rassurera peut-être pas grand monde, mais au moins, ils essaient de faire au mieux, on dirait.

Ce n'est pas nouveau. Déjà, dans les théatres antiques on mettait parfois des petites poteries creuses dans des petites niches au milieu des spectateurs pour amplifier le son (pas de micro à l'époque, dans des théatres qui faisaient parfois plus de 10 000 places!)

Merci JLB ! ça fait du bien de commencer une journée avec ce genre de nouvelle, qui confirme que les nouveaux acquéreurs ont bien compris la différence qu'il y avait entre le Liverpool FC et le reste de la planète foot.

C'est une bonne chose mais j'éspère qu'esthetiquement le stade sera un peu original (pas un Emirates Stadium bis please!)...enfin le fait qu'ils prennent leur temps pour reflechir sur le stade me fait plaisir.
