LIVERPOOL FC legend Tommy Smith launched a new centre for disabled people. The Disability Resource Centre, at Aintree Racecourse and Retail Park, is designed to help people with advice and equipment. It was set up by Sefton Community Equipment Service and charity Anchor Staying Put. The service currently has around 17,000 users. Opening the centre on Friday, Tommy said: “This facility will help so many people in Sefton. The equipment now available makes it so much easier for many people to live comfortably at home.” Alison Shaw, director of Provider Services at Sefton PCT, said: “We are pleased that we can now offer local people such a comprehensive service under one roof.”
