On peut quand même se demander qui evoluera au poste de defenseur central au coté de Pellegrinno, Carragher ou Traoré. Je pense que ce sera Carragher. Et qui evoluera sur le cote droit, Biscan ou Gerrard ? Les deux vont surement alterner. Ou sinon l equipe pourrait jouer en 3-5-2, comme on a eu l'impression qu'elle a joué a certain moment du match contre Southampton, ce qui donnerait Carragher,Traoré et Pellegrinno en defense , Riise et Finnan sur les cotes, Hamann,Biscan et Gerrard au centre, et Morientes et Baros en attaque.

Je préfèrerais quand même le 4-4-2 classique pour ce match si important, il me paraît plus gage de sécurité que le 3-5-2.

On joue bien en 4-4-2, avec Gerrard en meneur de jeu devant 3 milieux plus défensifs, Biscan, Hamann et Riise.

0 - 0 à la mi-temps, les dernières minutes ont d'ailleurs été chaudes pour les Reds, avec notamment un penalty que M. Riley a peut-être oublié de siffler.

En battant une nouvelle fois Watford 1 - 0 (après un match très très moyen), les Reds se qualifient pour la finale de la Carling Cup

Il ne reste plus qu'à attendre le nom de l'adversaire : Man Utd ou Chelsea...

This result was IMO exactly what was needed from the team at this moment in time. Not just because we have reached the final and a chance to secure a place in Europe and lift a trophy.

No, for me it was more the way that it was acheived. Gone was the uncertainty seen in our last 2 matches, gone was the standing back and letting the other team play, gone was the disorder in defence and also gone (with the exception of Biscan) was the awful passing where we couldn't find a team mate with the ball.

Not only the above positives though, Morientes looked sharper and this match will have done him a lot of good both from a confidence and fitness point of view. Pellegrino also looked more assured and again he is gradually coming to terms with the Premiership, it will still take time for both of these players though. Also the way as a team we competed for every ball never allowed the oppositin to settle and were 9 times out of ten first to the second ball.

All in all an excellent nights work and this also takes a lot of pressure off of both the team and Raffa in their first season together.
