Benitez aurait signé pour une saison supplémentaire

D'après Marca (quotidien sportif madrilène proche du Real mais assez peu fiable), Rafa aurait signé une prolongation de contrat de 1 an avec les Reds, coupant court aux rumeurs l'expédiant au real ou à L'Inter.
En effet, cela signifie que Rafa est désormais lié avec Liverpool jusqu'en 2010.

Cela peut signifier, si cela se vérifie (car je répète que Marca est très moyennement fiable), que Benitez a eu satisfaction pour le recrutement de l'été prochain.
D'un autre côté, vu la valeur des contrats dans le foot d'aujourd'hui, restons prudents.

Restons prudents, car une prologation aurait été annoncé officiellement par le club.

Rafa inks new Reds deal

Sky Sports News understands that Rafa Benitez has signed a contract extension with Liverpool.

The Reds boss is believed to have ended speculation as to his future by setting the seal on a new three-year extension to his existing contract.

Real Madrid were reportedly hoping to tempt Benitez back to Spain, although those ambitions now look to have been thwarted.

Reports emanating from Spanish sources say that the tactician has now agreed to stay at Anfield until 2010.

Apparemment le réal aurait tiré un trait sur Rafa et serait sur Anceloti qui termine son contrat au Milan à la fin de la saison.

d'apres l'equipe.fr rafa signerai une prolongation de contrat de 4 ans aujourd'hui, soit jusqu'en 2010...

Rafael Benitez has dismissed reports that he has signed a contract extension at Liverpool but admitted that he is talking to the club about his future.


With three years left to run on his existing deal, Benitez is believed to be reasy to sign a one-year extension, keeping him at Anfield until the summer of 2010.

Speculation has linked the former Valencia boss with a return to his native Spain to manage Real Madrid, but after seeing his side thrash Fulham 5-1 to end their goal drought he insisted he is happy at the club.

"We are talking about the future, I have three years left on my contract here so there is no hurry, I have not signed anything," Benitez said.

"My relationship with the fans is excellent, as is my relationship with the board.

"We are happy, I am happy and there is not a problem at all with our relationships. But the only thing I have been signing tonight has been autographs."

Robbie Fowler scored his first goal since returning to Liverpool from Manchester City, Fernando Morientes ended his 14-match barren spell and Peter Crouch touched in his sixth goal since his summer move from Southampton.

Stephen Warnock also fired his first goal for the club as Fulham capitulated in the final minutes, with Liverpool's other goal coming from the boot of the visitors' midfielder Michael Brown.

Benitez was delighted that his goal-shy strikers had at last got on the scoresheet.

He said: "They were all waiting to score and it was important for their confidence that they did.

"Everybody will want to talk about Robbie's first goal since he returned here, but I was equally pleased with the goals from the other strikers too."

LONDRES (Reuters) - Le manager espagnol de Liverpool, Rafael Benitez, aurait prolongé le contrat le liant au club évoluant dans le championnat anglais de football de première division, rapportent plusieurs médias britanniques jeudi.


Ce contrat révisé de quatre ans porte à 2010 le terme théorique de la collaboration entre le technicien espagnol et le club des rives de la Mersey.


Selon le Guardian, un accord a été conclu mercredi entre l'agent de Benitez, Manuel Garcia Quilon, et le directeur exécutif du club, Rick Parry. Il devrait être signé jeudi pour un montant d'une dizaine de millions de livres (15 millions d'euros environ).


Le Madrilène, qui est âgé de 45 ans, était donné partant par les médias britanniques et espagnols. Certains le voyaient reprendre les commandes du Real Madrid.
