Rafael Benitez has explained the reasons for leaving Robbie Fowler out of the Liverpool squad for yesterday's game at Chelsea.
Recent signing Fowler was a surprise omission from the travelling party at Stamford Bridge but Benitez revealed afterwards that the striker was left behind on Merseyside to work his fitness.

"Robbie knows the situation. We need to work with him and see how he improves," says the Reds boss, who is contemplating whether to recall the striker for Wednesday's trip to Charlton.

"He can give to us more things, but normally when you play against Chelsea you are under pressure and you need to play deep. Maybe it wouldn't have been easy for him, and we had three strikers here.

"When you only have 16 players on a squad list it's not easy to use all the strikers. Robbie understands and he is working hard to improve his physical situation."

De toutes las façons, si il y en a un qui ne devrait pas avoir de soucis c'est bien Robbie. Reste la condition physique.
