The latest rumour in Liverpool is that we will re-sign Owen very shortly on a 12 month loan deal with an option to buy him at the end of 12 months for 10 Million pounds.

Apparently the board have convinced Raffa that this deal makes good commercial sense for the club given that we will probably sell quite a few shirts. Also that it will not prevent Raffa from pursuing his prefferred transfer targets.

if this news is wright it should be great !

let's wait and see we all know how tricky Real can be in doing U turns concerning players, but apparently they want him off their books in 12 days!

la qualification quasi certaine en CL va nous rapporter minimum 15m€. La victoire d'hier peut nous permettre de financer ce transfert.

I agree Yves the question is does Raffa want to spend it on MO?

i think the answer is not for Rafa and yes for the board (and for me)

Not sure Yves if it should be the board or raffa. I think it should be up to Raffa who he buys and not the board. the board has never interfered with a managers choice of who he buys before at Anfield. In fact we are renowned for appointing a manager and then letting him get on with it.

Also remember why raffa left Valencia? Because the board were interfering too much with management decisions, so IMO, careful here.

You' re right. In fact the board seems to give the money available for owen return but let the decision to Rafa.

si j'ai bien compris c'est raffa qui decide ,car le board a valence avait essayé de faire ces choix a sa place et c'est pour ca qu'il est partis?

The real question is: do we really need MO in our squad ?
Do we really need another forward with Cissé-Crouch-Morientes ??
I don't believe so.
It will be nice to have MO back in LFC for the memory but i don't believe it's useful to have him.

Oui, le président de Valence avait refusé de recruter des joueurs que Rafa proposait en disant qu'ils étaient trop chers pour le club, qui était pas mal endetté.
Et il a finalement proposé à Rafa des joueurs qui coûtaient aussi cher mais dont Rafa ne voulait pas.
En définitive, ils n'ont pas réussi à se mettre d'accord et Valence n'a recruté personne. Et les résultats n'ont pas été à la hauteur des espérances. Enfin, en championnat en tous cas, car Valence a quand même gagné la coupe UEFA.
Mais Rafa a dit qu'une saison comme ça suffisait et s'est donc mis sur le marché pour débarquer finalement à Anfield.

quand au besoin de owen , je pense que 4 attaquant ce n'est aps de trop si on veut joué tout les tableau (owen , crouch , cissé , morientes)

He is in the squad to get some match practice because he isn't getting any at madrid.

I am not sure hwat is happening right now some say an announcement is imminent regarding MO. I think the club might wait until the game against
CSKA in the CL is well and truly settled.
