Basically it's all very complicated. Money earned is through "Starting Premium" (for reaching the CL), "Participation" (For taking part in the Group stage), "Performance (for how far you get and your results in each game) and "Market Pool" (TV money, for which England has the highest share along with Italy and Spain).

So Liverpool's breakdown: (all swiss francs)

Starting Premium - 2.5m
Participation - 3m
Progression - 5.5m (+ 4m Chelsea)
Performance - 5.5m (6W-2D-2L)

= £21.5m SF (£9.7m)

The complicated part is the market pool. Another factor depends on where you finished in your league the season before to qualify. Therefore as we finished 4th we will get a smaller share than Chelsea who finished above us last season. That said Chelsea were in the same boat as us last season and made 26.7m swiss francs from their market pool. Using that figure would give us:

26.7m = £12.1m + £9.7m = £21.8m

FINALLY we can expect more money depending on our results against Chelsea (maximum 1m swiss francs + yet more money for reaching the final). Most important of all to remember though is the gate receipts (It's 570k for each PL home game + matchday sales). Also don't forget the 2 CL Qualifiers.

tout sauf beckham,dyer,bowyer,rooney.......bref,tousles tocards de la premiership.
franck lampard,ce serait le top,on aurait le meilleur milieu de terrain d'europe,dans ce cas là.
et lampard aime jouer avec gerrard,mais lampard ne quiterra jamais chelski.
moi je demande juste un vrai ailier gauche.quoique riise revient au mailleur de sa forme.
je pense que si l'année prochaine on a nettement moins de blessés on peut gagner la premier league.

Lampard looks a great player mainly because he has a great player behind him. If Stevie G had Makalele covering behind him and could attack safe in the knowledge his back was well covered he would be player of the year.

I would buy makalele only I don't think Chelsea would sell him.

On this point I would not be surprised if Raffa has a plan to try and neutralize the influence of Makalele when we play them.
