Rafa in no rush over Fowler
By Alex Livie - Created on 7 Apr 2006
Rafa Benitez has revealed he is thrilled with Robbie Fowler's efforts and indicated the forward will learn his fate in the next month.
Anfield legend Fowler returned to Merseyside in January, signing a six-month deal.
He has made steady progress with his fitness since his move from Manchester City and scored in the recent win over West Brom.
Fowler is looking to secure an extended stay at Anfield, but would appear to need to do a little more to earn a new deal from the Spaniard.
"I have been talking with Robbie and I am happy with him," stated Benitez. "We are not in a hurry and he knows why.
"It is not a problem between him and us. He knows the situation and it is not a problem.
"We have two clear options, Robbie can stay or look for another team.
"We need to decide in three weeks, one month, we will know exactly. We are really happy with him and he needs to work as hard as he is now.
"We know he is a very good finisher and a good player. We need to know how he will be next season and which level he can play in and he knows and understands."
