pepe reina prolonge pour 5 ans !

Liverpool have today confirmed that goalkeeper Pepe Reina has signed a new contract which will keep him at Anfield until 2012.
The Reds have moved quickly to secure the services of their number one goalkeeper on a new five year deal following two excellent seasons with the Reds.

Speaking exclusively to Liverpoolfc.tv from Spain this afternoon, Reina said: "I am very happy with this contract. It was always my wish to sign a new deal because this is a good club which is looking forward to a very ambitious and attractive project.

"The details of the contract were very straightforward. Rick Parry and the American owners made everything easy and in the end it was a good solution for the club and a good solution for me.

"I spoke with Rafa and his thoughts for the future really excited me. He has ambitions for the team which I want to be part of and I'm sure the other players feel the same. The idea now for all of us is to keep winning matches and to challenge for titles. That's what we'll be looking for from the start of next season.

"Our fans deserve the league title and that's what we'll be looking for. Seventeen years without winning it is far too long for this club and that's why our biggest target next year has to be the Premiership."

Reina also admitted the thought of playing in Liverpool's brand new stadium was an appealing prospect when deciding to pledge the next five years of his career to the Reds.

"It was definitely one of the reasons behind the decision," he said. "In an ideal world we'd stay at Anfield but we understand we have to move for a number of reasons. I just hope we can have the same atmosphere in the new stadium. I'm so excited at the thought of being part of it."

C'est pas le sujet mais je pense pas que Stevie va jouer en majorité à ce poste l'année prochaine, surtout si Momo et Xabi prolonge.

Il est vrai que notre skeeper risque surtout de jouer à nouveau à droite ou dans une position de relayeur entre le milieu et l'attaque.

Tres bonne nouvelle.Reina va encore s'ameliorer.Il n'a que 24 ans.

s'il reste aussi longtemps qu'eux il pourra vraiment marquer les esprit a Liverpool, et il a le talent pour il nous l'a prouvé mainte fois depuis qu'il est là !

Je suis sûr que le superbe maillot vert que lui a concocté adidas n'est pas pour rien dans sa décision de prolonger

Très bonne nouvelle en effet. Mais toute bonne nouvelle en amène une mauvaise. En effet, je doute que Scott Carson n'accepte pas de rester numéro 2 jusqu'en 2012. Je crois que le club va devoir penser à libérer ce joueur. Bien dommage pour Carson.

Reina vient de faire deux saisons superbes, c'est un point fort de l"équipe, et personnellement j'en ai fait mon joueur de l'année chez nous !

C'est dommage pour Carson, mais soyons honnête, ce n'est pas la même catégorie de joueurs ...

TRES BONNE NOUVELLE POUR REINA, MAIS JE PENSE QUE CARSON IL FAUT PAS LE VENDRE CAR POUR MOI C'EST LE FUTUR GARDIEN DE L'EQUIPE D'ANGLETERRE ET POURQUOI PAS DE LIVERPOOL.
