Player Notes:
Ray was a striker at Arsenal, scoring 71 goals in 212 games in 5 years and in his first full season as professional a vital part of the triumphant side which won the League and FA cup double in the 1970/71 season. He started the 1974/75 season in attack, but the following season Paisley had found a new place for Kennedy to blossom, on the left side of midfield. Ray was a revelation on the left, winning England recognition at last.
Ray became a coach at Sunderland when he stopped playing but all future plans in the game were put on hold when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
