RAFA DEFENDS UNDER FIRE GARCIA

Rafael Benitez has defender under fire midfielder Luis Garcia and believes the player has come in for some unfair criticism recently.
Benitez says the former Barcelona winger needs more time to adjust to the English game and said Garcia has had more good than bad games in a red shirt.

Benitez said: "Luis Garcia is a very skilful and intelligent player. He needs to use his qualities more and it is different for him playing here than what he was used to in Spain.

"He has played very well at home for us and that shows he can do it. He needs to learn how to adapt to play away but he is a very good player who scores goals.

"Robert Pires wasn't great in his first season at Arsenal but look at him now. It is only a matter of time with Luis."

Il pense que l'ancien ailier de Barcelone a besoin de plus de temps pour s'adapter au jeu anglais et a réalisé plus de bons matchs que de mauvais sous le maillot rouge.

"C'est un joueur très adroit et intelligent. il doit plus utiliser ses qualités et il doit jouer ici différemmentde ce qu'il faisait en Espagne." a dit Benitez.

"il a bien joué à domicile et cela prouve qu'il peut le faire. Il a besoin maintenant de s'adapter pour parvenir à faire la même chose à l'extérieur mais c'est un très bon joueur et un buteur."

"Robert Pirès n'a pas été très bon lors de sa première saison à Arsenal mais regardez le maintenant. C'est seulement une affaire de temps avec Luis."

My only criticism of Luis is that he is guilty of not getting his head up and looking at the other options and players around him. Baros is equally guilty of this and they should be working hard in training on this. They both undoubtedley though are excellent players who if they can try to appreciate tactically what is happening around them would be superb.
