BLADES HOME TO LIVERPOOL
SHEFFIELD United's Premier-ship season kicks-off against Champions League contenders Liverpool at Bramall Lane on Saturday, August 19.
Wednesday start the ball rolling a fortnight earlier in the Championship facing Preston away on August 5.
Neil Warnock's Blades face champions and football super-power Chelsea on October 28 at home. Manchester United are there on November 18.
The Christmas programme brings United fixtures at home to Manchester City on Boxing Day and again at Bramall Lane against Arsenal on December 30.
Wednesday travel to Stoke on Boxing Day before the South Yorkshire derby with Barnsley at Oakwell on December 30.
Chesterfield are at Bourne-mouth on day one.
Last match of the season for the Blades is Wigan at home on May 13 while Owls manager Paul Sturrock has to contend with Norwich City at Hillsborough on May 6.
Barnsley kick-off at home to Cardiff and Rotherham host Brighton.
"We're not daft and we know it's going to be difficult," said United captain Chris Morgan.
"But we're ready to fight for every single point and I know the lads are going to be up for the challenge.
"How can we not be? This is were every player wants to be."
Despite that confidence, United's battle to establish themselves will be complicated by Warnock's touchline ban.
He must watch the first two games from the stands.
Warnock has been linked with a move for Leeds striker Rob Hulse.
Given the fractious relations between the two clubs, any attempt to prise the 26-year-old away from Elland Road would be fraught with difficulty but the United manager has long history of launching audacious bids for players.
