Former Reds skipper Emlyn Hughes is among a group of greats that have been chosen to be inducted into the National Football Museum's Hall of Fame.
The two-times European Cup winning captain - who sadly passed away in 2004 - joins clubmates Bill Shankly, Kenny Dalglish, John Barnes, Alan Hansen, Ian Rush, Roger Hunt, Kevin Keegan, Bob Paisley and Graeme Souness on the list.
Hughes played for the Reds between 1967 and 1979 and went on to skipper both Liverpool and England. He played 665 times for the club scoring 49 goals and is widely regarded as one of Bill Shankly's finest ever signings.
He is one of a number of greats to have been selected this year in a list that includes David Beckham, Steve Bloomer, Thierry Henry, Emlyn Hughes, Paul Scholes, Ray Wilson and Bertie Mee.
The National Football Museum in Preston started its Hall of Fame in 2002 with the inductees chosen by a selection panel that includes Gordon Banks, Sir Trevor Brooking, Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Bobby Charlton, Jack Charlton, Mark Lawrenson and Gary Lineker.
The awards will be presented at the annual ceremony, this year being held at the Millennium Mayfair Hotel in London on September 18
