Warnock se remet en ce moment d'une opération mais il est heureux que rafa le garde dans ses plans
Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has spoken of his relief that he does figure in manager Rafael Benitez's plans for the new season.
The young left-back was unsure if he would figure for the Reds, due to the recent signing of Fabio Aurelio from Valencia.
Although Warnock is currently recovering from a hernia operation, he does expect to be fully fit for the start of the new season.
"The injury was a long-standing problem," explained Warnock. "I first had a hernia problem at Coventry, and from January last season it was causing me problems again.
"I had an operation last Thursday, but it's not as serious as it sounds. I think I'll only be out a couple of weeks.
On his future, Warnock said: "I did go to in to see the manager just to find out what was going to happen.
"The gaffer told me he saw me and John Arne Riise as the main competition at left back because Djimi Traore has been told he can leave the club. I think Fabio Aurelio is seen as more of a left midfielder, but we'llsee when the season starts.
