from daily post,WIGAN ATHLETIC are confident they will complete a deal for Chris Kirkland by the end of the week.
The Latics want to sign the Liverpool goalkeeper on a year-long loan, with an option to buy at the end of the season.
And they believe a deal for the 25-year-old will be finalised after Anfield chief executive Rick Parry returns from holiday tomorrow.
Kirkland, who is under contract at Liverpool until 2009, is considered surplus to requirements by manager Rafael Benitez, and has not made an appearance for the Spaniard in almost 18 months.
