RAFA WARY OF BLACKBURN THREAT
Steve Hunter 16 April 2006
Rafael Benitez admits he hasn't been surprised by how well Blackburn Rovers have done this season and knows Sunday's clash at Ewood Park will be another tough test for his side as they aim for a second place finish.
The Liverpool manager still believes Liverpool can finish ahead of Manchester United in the race for second place but feels three points is a must at Blackburn on Sunday afternoon.
Mark Hughes' Blackburn are currently in sixth place in the Premiership and chasing a European qualification so there is much to play for at Ewood Park.
"If we could finish second that would be fantastic but it will not be easy. We will have to win every game and we will try to do it," insists Benitez.
"We have another tough game at Blackburn who are looking to finish in the top four, and I'm not surprised how well they have done this season as they are a strong team with balance," commented Benitez.
"I remember Mark Hughes playing in Spain for Barcelona and he was a good player and aggressive, and he is a good manager. He has some good players and Bellamy is scoring a lot of goals but the most important thing for us is to win and play well if possible."
