Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has lost his patience with German midfielder Didi Hamann and has withdrawn the new contract proposal that was offered to him in the New Year.
Benitez has become tired of Hamann's decision to stall on signing the contract and has told the player to prove himself between now and the end of season if he wants to remain at Anfield. But even then there will be no guarantee that the manager will change his mind and offer him another deal.
Hamann's agent has been sent packing and has been told not to contact the club until later in April when Rafa will decide if it's in his interests to retain the 31-year-old.
