LE TALLEC MAY MAKE SQUAD
Team Talk 18 February 2005
Anthony Le Tallec could finally find himself back in a Liverpool first-team squad when the Champions League gets underway again next week.
Liverpool are at home to Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, and boss Rafael Benitez is hit by a string of injuries and absentees.
Steven Gerrard is suspended, while Fernando Morientes and Mauricio Pellegrino are both cup-tied.
With Djibril Cisse, Florent Sinama-Pongolle and Xabi Alonso all long-term injuries, Le Tallec is expected to be on the bench at Anfield on Tuesday.
He has just returned from a spell on loan at St Etienne where he was sent by Benitez after demanding to be in the first-team squad before the season started.
The young Frenchman has scored twice in reserve games since his return, and Benitez says: "Le Tallec is playing well but the most important thing is that he is trying.
"Some players will have the chance to be involved, and the possibility is there for Le Tallec, Darren Potter, John Welsh and Neil Mellor."
