PostSubject: How do ,you see the glass, Half Full or Half Empty?   Thu 24 Jun 2010 - 13:27

Well if the stories emanating from the press are to be believed, and personally I do believe them Roy of the Rovers is about to become our next boss.

The fact that King Kenny has threatened to resign from LFC only lends credence to the story that this deal was done last week and Roy is flying home from South Africa
to be announced shortly as the next Reds Manager.

Given some of the other names that have been mentioned I am happy enough with this choice.

Now how to you see the future from here? Is the glass Half Full or Half Empty?

Benitez would claim it was not even a damp glass!

But the reality of the situation is that the club were just not prepared to give Benitez any more money to waste.

This does not mean there is no money available, contrary to what Benitez would have the fans believe. This is just one of the reasons I am glad Benitez has gone, he
created division between the club and the supporters to suit his own purposes. And to be honest given the owners we have this was not exactly difficult. Still it does surprise me
the level of gullibility of a large proportion of our fan base who litterally took every thing Benitez said as being cast iron FACTS.

The reality of the situation is somewhat different. Hodgson will have 15 Million transfer budget from the owners, add to this the money he can raise from sales 5 Million for Benayoun,
30 Million for Mascherano, 10 Million for Babel. You already have 55 Million to spend and you havent even started to count the money that can be brought in from selling some the massive squad of players ammassed by Benitez that never got anywhere near the first team but are all drawing salaries. I am not talking about the likes of Degen, Aurelio ( already of the wage bill) Riera, El Zhar, etc. But others who are never considered for the first team. Remember Benitez registered over 50 players with Premier League as our first team squad last season!

So let Roy bring in a couple of quality players in the positions where we need them, a forward to help Nando out, A midfield creative player, and a holding Midfielder to replace Mascherano.

Start playing the players we have in their best positions, don't drop players when they hit form but allow them to build their confidence, get the best out what we have. Ask the players to play a system not only that they understand but that suits their talents, combined with a Manager who knows how to motivate his players and get them playing at their best.

The future is looking very bright.

All of the above were failings under Benitez.

And lets do this whilst keeping any internal problems with the club just that, Internal. Lets go back to having a season where the information coming out of our club is about the football and not some self serving political game that suits the Manager.

YNWA

Well he has only been in the job a day and what a difference already.

All of sudden everyone is reading of the same page and everyone at the club from Hodgson, Dalglish, The Chairman or the CEO are making
positive statements about our club.

Gone is the atmosphere of distrust permeated by Benitez.

Hodgson' way of handling the press is just what we need after the disastrous style of his predecessor.

This new positive atmosphere must surely benefit the players.

I for one feel very positive about our future.
